The Harbor

A boat came into view just off the Harbour it's engine was a Volvo 220 horsepower and it slow hum could be heard for quite some distance much to the annoyance of its Captain whom cursed every time it let off a small plume of gas , He was no expert but a leaking engine was not a sign of a Healthy boat the Model was fairly young a Wellcraft sportsfisher 22 he had managed to commandeer the vessel at a harbour further along the coast .

Richards hair was cut short to his scalp and stubble was visible upon his face he had only one possession a Puma sports Bag which contained a few tins of curry and Beans and a 4 pack of Spring water along with a Simple Bowie knife and a Glock 19 pistol along with a GPS tracking system and a map of the area .

Richard could see the smoke pluming from the high rise buildings in front of him he knew what he was getting himself into he didn't have to be here the Government had fell his duties in the CIA should have been left to the past .

Red's acid-green eyes scanned the smoky remains of the buildings. It was very bright outside, so she had to squint to see clearly. Red stood somewhere off to the side of the Harbor and breathed in the salty scent of the water, reminding her of the past memories at the beach.

She peered down at the murky water, tutting at the foul pollution that filled the once clear water. Everything was silent, except for the calm swishing of the small waves that hit the bottom.

A light breeze lifted Red's fire red hair from her shoulders. She caught a strand and twirled it absentmindedly around her finger, deep in thought.

Red wore a sleeveless black leather jacket with somewhat bulky silver jewelry hanging from her neck that clanked together whenever she moved. She wore long, black cargo pants and black leather boots. Flat, of course.

Elegant, fire red waves of silky hair fell from her head and passed her shoulders, currently pushed back by the wind. In her hand, she was twirling black sunglasses. Red used them to hide her eyes, for they were deadly. Her hair and her eyes were the only color that appeared on her.

A soft purring came from below. Red looked down to find her young companion, a baby tiger named Zero, rubbing himself against her leg and purring happily as he looked up at her with his yellow eyes. Zero trusted only her and vice versa. They have been inseperable since Red have rescued Zero couple of years ago from what had been an explosion.

The purring stopped and Zero's eyes were staring at something. Following his gaze, Red peered into the distance and slightly tensed. She flipped on her black sunglasses that hid her bright, acid-green eyes. Red saw a boat.

Richard cut the Engine allowing the boat to drift its self to the Harbour he promptly picked up the Puma sports bag and ran through his supplies satisfied that his gear was in order he stood up and looked to the waiting harbour .

He at first caught site of what he thought was a common Undead walker , and readied himself to beat the hell out of whatever came out of them but his steely glare softened as he noted that it was only a female .

He raised his left arm and waved as the boat thudded to a halt , Beached , " Hello There "
He said clearly .

He climbed up onto the front of the boat and jumped ashore glad to be free of the death trap that was his boat .

Red stood silently, watching the boat come to a stop. Zero tensed and stood closely behind her as a man raised his left arm and greeted her. When the man approached nearer, Zero's ears flattened and growled. Red slightly nudged him with her foot to silence him. The cub whined and lowered his head, looking pitiful.

She nodded once at the man. "Hello," she said, her voice silk-like.

He threw his sports bag down and reached into drawing out a bottle of spring water he uncapped the bottle and took a sip he regarded the lady and reached into the bag and drew another bottle he gave her a slight nod and threw it to her " I'll save some outta my bottle for your cat " .

He held the bottle up towards the sun noting it was less than a quarter full he walked slowly over the female and placed the bottle next to her .

" What brings you out here alone ? " He said not intending to be sexist towards the healthy looking lady .

Red raised her right arm and caught the water bottle, muttering a thank-you. Zero peeked at the man from behind her and edged away as the male set the bottle down. Approaching it slowly, he pawed at the bottle and it tipped over, the water pooling around it. He happily lapped it up and Red smiled.

She unscrewed the lid of her own bottle and took a sip, the cool spring water traveling down her throat, refreshing her dry mouth. Red adjusted the black sunglasses and pondered over the male's question.

Red simply shrugged and capped the bottle, looking past him to see the water.

"Decided to take a walk," was her reply. She studied him for a few seconds before asking, "And yourself?"

Red had the slightest feeling that she was being watched. Her hidden eyes darted here and there, but the male in front of her would not know, for her eyes were hidden behind black sunglasses.

Zero had seemed to feel someone's eyes on him as well. The cub paused from lapping up water and raised his head. He looked up and locked eyes with the person on the rooftop. Zero began to growl lowly.

Red glanced down at the cub, brows furrowed. She bent down and scratched behind Zero's ears, calming down a little. Not knowing what was wrong, she continued scratching his ear and followed his gaze to one of the buildings. Carefully studying it, she found nothing out of place.

She whispered to the cub. "Shh, Zero. Calm down, nothing's wrong." Red couldn't help but feel like she was lying to her companion. The eyes that were watching her seemed to go away.
