The Subway Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Subway   The Subway EmptyThu Nov 25, 2010 10:28 am

The gravel cracked under his feet as he slowly crept through the Subway. The girl he last met was afraid of here, why? He did not know but did he care? No. His Python was pointed out in front of him. He heard a low growl, he hadn't heard such a growl. a minotaur type of creature walked out of the shadows. It was the growler, it watched the male with cold dead eyes. Raising his gun Juilius fired. The bullet whized through the air, but to his surprise missed the creature. He was attacked by the Hybrid being sent to the ground.

Watching it bring a fist down to his face he slammed his own fist into its. The ower of the both the B.E.S and the Hybrid shook the ground. Using his left foot he kicked the creature away crawling to his weapon. Grabbing it he rose it to fire, but he was to late. A second time the creature struck him sending him rolling backwards. He heard the creature run towards him, forcing himself up he slammed out both arms to connect with the creatures stomach. The power sent the Hybrid stumbling back.

Again it charged but he was ready. With both his arms he ducked down and flipped the Hybrid over him slamming it into the ground back first. He heard snapping as the Hybrids spine cracked. Grabbing his gun he pointed it to the Hybrids head. Smiling he spoke "And here, you die beast." everything was silent, before the gun was fired. The ground was painted in the hybrids blood as it lay there dead. Putting his gun back in its holder he fled the Subway not wanting to meet another Hybrid.

The Subway Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Subway   The Subway EmptyThu Nov 25, 2010 11:41 pm

The sun's frail attempts to pierce the dim clouds barely illuminated the ground below, everything cast in a dull, lifeless pallor. The scent of blood lingered in the air soon after the death of the hybrid experiment, the wind shifts subtly drawing the scent further along the corridors of the city streets to gain unwanted attention. A stray bird flutters to disturb the silence, not even the undead dared to make a sound, not even them were exempt from the dogs of death. At first they couldn't be seen, lurking in the ruined buildings, waiting for some unsuspecting prey to linger out into the opening. The lure of blood is what drew them out, first the small ones, their dull claws clicking on the ruined concrete as they slipped out into the open. They were a grotesque sight to be witnessed, fur-less with muscles and tendons showing in some parts with their mutated two heads with rows of needle like teeth.

Seeing that nothing came at them, two more slinked from the shadows, one was large but the other was larger still. There was another visible difference, the biggest one had murky yellow eyes, though still unable to see out them, while the rest just had a stretch of skin over their heads. They began to encompass the fallen 'Minotaur', the man who had slain the mutated monster long gone by now, leaving the body for scavengers. At first the smaller ones dashed in to try to grab a bite, but it was the two larger ones who bit and shoved them out of the way to get to the food. One head ate while the other snapped threateningly at the others, warning them to wait their turn. The sight was gruesome indeed, flesh was shredded like a blender from those long teeth, blood smearing over their faces like war paint while the littler ones fought and snarled over who got to eat after the leaders.

The Subway Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Subway   The Subway EmptyMon Nov 29, 2010 4:26 am

Her boots made a clicking sound as she approached the stairs to the subway. Her usual grin that lingered on her face was now nothing but a solemn gaze. Descending down the stairs the girl of 20 to 30 years of age rubbed one of her arms. She once thought she was quite a good asset to a the line of monsters, but these chains of events had....well, changed that point of view.
The moonlight only reached to the bottom of the subway stairs and so, Darq, was then plunged into the darkness that was held in the tunnel. She kept ever so quiet in alert for any noise; scuffling sound here and there could be heard.
It wasn't the zombies that so much scared her; it was the other things that lurked in the far corners of the city and its reaches...
She came to a gravely path as she advanced more deeply into the subway. What was that? A sound, a low growl, a snarl and a scuttle. Darq froze. Her large blue eyes scanned the darkness around her. She rapidly turned as another scuttle sounded behind her. "Fuck..." she murmured in the darkness.
It happened too quick for her to register, a large bounding creature smacked into her at full spead, her whole body rushed through the air until finally, with such force, she smashed into a barrier with a loud crunch, and slid down to the floor, thumping hard on it.
Her gaze blurred and she panicked a glance through the blackness until she new no more.

The Subway Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Subway   The Subway EmptyMon Nov 29, 2010 4:46 pm

Jumping down from top of a mashed subway car, the crunch of the dog's skull gave way to his massive weight. The blood of the raged zombie canine squirted out as the entire skull was reduced to dust under this man's boots and he twisted his right boot on his toeas if he was putting out a smoke. The man stepped off the crushed skull and on to the patch of grass that had sprang up in the subway since its fall into disuse.

He glanced back at the woman who lay unconscious behind him and he lifted up the baseball bat in his hand. The wooden bat was literally covered in blood and was wrapped in this monstorous grade of barbed wire, looking more like a spiked mace. He cocks his head to the side and swings the bat to his left as he grabbed the bat wit both hands. A dog leapt from the shadows and was aimmed straight for a right side blind strike but its plan was thrown out the window when his head met with the mace and a sik drove straight through is brain and snapped its neck.

The skull was also mush under the impact of this man and his sheer strength of this man and his blows. He steps more into the light and his older face with its bearded scruff catches. His face is weathered and darker. He was not too much older, but his salt and pepper beard gave way to short, matted hair. His M16 rested on a strap that allowed him to draw it quickly, had he the need to shoot something. He slid the bat into a loop on his hip that held it there without hitting him and still keeping it ready for use.

He knelt down, keeping his keep senses alert for more movement as he picked up the body of the woman in hs massive arms. He looked like a frequent body builder, his arms the size of saplings and his big barrel-chest bulging as he hefted her in his arm. He then hefted her easily onto his left shoulder, in a fireman's carry like she was a bundle of sticks. He slipped the bat out of its loop at his hip and held it ready in his left hand as he carried her back to his burrow he made out of an unknown tunnel that was like a fort.

This room had been kept secret by the government in the underground city, seeing as it was one of the first labs to originally start on genenetic mutation and testing back in the 1960's and early 70's. Before that, the mob had used it for beating and getting info out of moles and the like. It was like a mini fortress with its three, 36-inch hyperdiamond doors that could only be opened by the force of a train pushing. The door were made on the inner workings to naturally spring closed from a small, clockwork timer. The place, roughly the size of a three bedroom house, was perfectly sealed then.

Its inner ventilation system had been upgraded, still a used facility throughou the years, and the man had everything he needed, courtesy the old taxpyers money and the VERY secretive government. He walked over to the cot he had set up as his bed and he layed her gently down and let her rest as he went about making some food for her after she awoke.

PostSubject: Re: The Subway   The Subway EmptyMon Nov 29, 2010 9:01 pm

[/i]She was running, he feet smashing hard on the gravel path as she sped away from the thing behind her. She only had once glance at the creature before sprinting away. The eyes, the skin, the noises....
She woke with a start, her eyes snapping open rapidly. She sat up hard and regretted it from the pain that throbbed in her head, a moan escaped her mouth and she feel back down to the pillow. Pillow? Propping herself up onto one elbow, a comfy padding beneith her, she let her eyes gaze across her surroundings. She had to blink a few times before her view became perfectly clear again, she then swung her legs around and out to dangle over the bed end. Her gaze lingered over a strange set of doors, a frown starting to form across her brow. Darq blinked and the frown faded away, she made for a stand and a wave of dizzyness hit her, she moaned for the second time and lowered her head to supsend it in between her two hands that propped on her knees.
A yawn made its way through her mouth and her memory hit her. A huge force crashing into her wholoe body, frowning she tried to sift through the images to try and pick up what it was. Then another thought struck her, how in hell did she get to this room? There she sat for another five minutes, trying to piece parts together...

"Evenin'." the male said, standing in front of her, but still out of arm or leg range. He held two tin plates in his hands and waited for her reaction, dodging blows if need be. His shirt was off, his muscles showing all too obvious. He smiled at her warmly, his only eye a deep hue of purple. The left eye had an eyepatch over it, leaving a lingering scar of a cut showing just a tad under it.

Her head snapped up at the voice, eyes instantly closing from the pain she made a face and touched her forehead. "Greetings.." she murmured, a joke tone mixed with the moan of pain. She opened her eyes and moved them upwards. "I didn't think there were any more survivors." She stated, reaching her up to the tin plate he offered her. Darq placed the plate next to her and held her hand out, "I don't know how you did it, but thanks. Darq, nice to meet you, under these wonderful circumstances." A small grin lingered on her lips as she said this.

She lifted the plate back up at the mouth-watering site of the stew. Taking the falk from the side of the plate she started to scoops the stew into her mouth. Darq lent back her eyes closed, "man that stuff is brilliant.." she then proceeded to shovel the stew in. "Well.." she started, through mouthfuls of stew, "I was working on a perfectly normal day, or so I thought it was.." she paused for another mouthful and then carried out through chews, "I get home, and...well....you know the rest.." Her face dropping, the plate sagging into her lap while she went back to that day.
" I came through the door. Everything was quiet which was highly unusual for Mum as she was always pottering around...but this time she just stood at the sink, half swaying. When I tried to talk to, she turned, very slowly and the site was.....awful...I just ran, and now, three weeks later...well...." She began to eat again, slowly

Jeriko nods as he watched her eat, eating quite timidly for a man his size as he stood there. He knew how bad it was. He had been allowed to read top secret material that wasnt available to the public. He knew when it started, all the experimenting on the soldiers to see the best way to get them stronger, faster, tougher and more violent in battle. They succeeded but it still had backfired.

For him that was neither here nor there anymore. All that was his agenda was to survive. This woman... He could protect her as well. Seeing as the circumstances was to survive, and she didnt stand a chance out there. After all, he was a bodyguard and thats exactly what she needed now in this world.

Finishing up on her meal, she swallowed the last of her food and replaced the plate on her lap. Her gaze averted to the man as her ate and smiled, "really good.." she nodded while complementing him. "How did you get the meat though?" Darq smirked, her eyes drooping slightly from the full belly now. Her eyes scanned the room and she suddenly remembered something, "my gun, my magnum do you have it?" her eyes became wide again in worry, that gun was her best friend since the outbreak.."

Jeriko's eyes widen at the revelation that he had missed something. He sighs as he shakes his head. "Sorry... I must have missed it in the scuffle. I wanted to get you to safety before the noise attracted other ones..." He says to her. It was true. That was top priority in this day and age. It was safety first or you could be dead before you even know it. "Tomorrow, we can trace back that route, if its not too dangerous and retrive it as I scout a few more of the tunnels." he told her.

He reached over and pulled out a .38 handgun and handed it to her, following it with two clips of ammo. "Use that for now. If you are shooting a magnum, I should expect you know how to properly and safely use a gun?" he asks

Her eyes drooped again in disappointment, "Damn..." sighing, she lent back again. Darq tried to picture what is was that hit her, but nothing came but a big black shape. She nodded appreciatively and took the gun from him, "thank you." However, she still wanted her magnum back... "Hey, what was that thing back in the tunnel?" She had to ask, curiosity emerging.

Jeriko shakes his head and he sighs, "May as well be called Hell Hounds. They are like zombie dogs, yet the virus gave them strength and speed." He tells her. He takes her plate and sets it aside with his, deciding to do it later, keeping this woman company. He leaned back slightly on his perch and watched her reaction as he started to explain what the dog looked like.

"They always hunt in packs and they can come in as many shapes and sizes dogs can. They are like wolves on steriods. Violent and not to be triffled with." he tells her, "They can get pretty bad in the subway tunnels..." he says.

She brought a hand up to her face and rub one of her eyes in frustration, "I nearly got killed...Jesus I'm sloppy!" She shook her head and made a face. Clenching her jaw she leaned back and rested against the wall. "I've lasted this long...." She played with a loose cotton strand on the bed cover and her brow furrowed in thought. If they were possible, what else could be lurking in the city?
"I still need my magnums though." She murmured after a few minutes of silence. Darq raised her gaze to the man, a determined look in her eyes, 'surely if it's day time, we'll be safe." She fixed her eyes on the man and once again clenched her jaw.

Darq took a look around the room, a fretting look on her face. "I dunno, I think I'm a bit tired you know, that bash to my head has got me a bit, dizzy and shit." She half smirked and slumped down onto the bed facing the ceiling. She stared at it for a little while, bringing one of her legs up to sit with her foot against the sheets and her knee pivoted into the air. Sighing, Darq brought her arms up and folded them behind her head. "Yeah..." She murmured quietly.

Jeriko looks to the female as he then turned to grab a blanket from the shelf he leaned against. He draped it over her, sliding it up her as he covered her up to keep her warm. Jeriko then grabs his M16 and perches himself to watch the crawlhole, just in case as he fell into a slight, consious sleep. The sleep allowed him to keep an eye around him for any sort of movement of sounds of trying to get in.

She smiled at Jeriko as he draped the cover onto her. Lazily she watche the older man get himself into his perch with his gun. Under the warmth of the blanket, her eyes drooped and eventually, she fell asleep. It was dreamless, but comfortable, and would allow her to gather strength with the full stomach and comfy bed she had.
